Online Game Analysis:

In a recent assignment I received in college for my “Ludology and Game Play” module I was tasked with finding a simple free online game and writing down in detail how I felt and what I was doing as I played the game.

The game I selected for this assignment is a game called “Get on Top”. Get on Top (GOT) is a physics based 2-D multiplayer game in which two players control a character each using the WASD keys and the arrow keys to move. This game is round based and once someone wins both players are returned to their original positions. The aim of the game is to wrestle the opponent to the ground so that they hit their head on it to score a point which ends the round. The game is over when one of the players scores 11 points.

As this is a two player game I played with my friend Jack. I had great fun while playing this game. The physics in the game are exaggerated as sometimes one of the characters would flip over the other and hit their head off the ground so I often found myself laughing while playing. Due to the competitive nature of the game I would do things such as lean towards the screen or kick my legs in excited while trying to win. Because of the randomness of the game’s physics it was always satisfying to win a round or even the game.

Overall I thought this game was really fun to play especially with friends as my friend and I certainly enjoyed playing it. I would definitely recommend this game to others as it is a good time waster.
